Urban Fantasy Fans Meet Screvin from The Hunters Saga
Screvin is Lucas’ best friend. They grew up together playing football. When Screvin returned from military duty in Afghanistan it was to find his hometown had been infested with vampires and his family was gone. He teamed up with Lucas and his crew to fight the fiends.
Life has been hard on Screvin. But he always rises to the occasion. Whether it be the reality that his scholarship dreams are over, or the hardships of war, the loss of his family, or the loss of his world, Screvin always rises. But through all the crap he has survived, it has left him with an anger problem. A problem that endangers him as he transitions to the Were life.
Casting Screvin would be really hard. Because he is so young (only 23 in The Hunters, just turned 24 in The Hunted) finding an actor who looks the right age and has the ability to carry such gravitas has been tough. After months of searching for the right person, I am torn between Aaron J. Nelson who has the physicality of ex-military and pretty good skills, while being a good representation of what I imagine Screvin to look like in my head, and Nadji Jeter.
A sane casting director would go with Nelson. He looks the part, he has the chops, and he would probably do a fine job.
Jeter looks to young (heck, he IS too young), he’s scrawnier than Screvin, he has been pretty goofy in his last several roles and is currently sporting a flat top that really doesn’t work.
But I remember seeing him in Castle and thinking. “Holy moly. That kid!” There’s just something about him that hits me in the feels! He can play that “Life has sucked, but I can rise above it.” “Just because I’m a bad ass, doesn’t mean I’m bad” kind of role. I think he would be my top pick. I sure as heck would like to give him a shot, that’s for sure!

The Hunters: For those who believe vampires should be killed, not kissed.
What would you do if you found your town had been infested with vampires? For Chris and his brother Lucas, the answer was simple enough: you fight back. Gathering a small band of other people in their town who have been affected by the vampires, they begin a resistance. But after a year of fighting, they have only managed to kill a handful, while the vampire leader has turned five times that many.
Then two enigmatic strangers appear, changing the group’s lives even further.
Fury and Havoc. They call themselves hunters, and want no part in this little band of heroes. Ordering them to lay low, the duo vow to rid their town of vampires. When Fury is injured, Chris aides these strangers, entwining his future with theirs.
Now that the vampires know the hunters are here, and that Chris and his friends have helped them, the group is in more danger than ever before. Lucas is torn between protecting his new family from the vampires, and protecting them from these seemingly inhuman beings who say they are there to help.
After all, what beings could be so powerful as to scare a vampire?
The Hunters has a 4.4 rating on Amazon, and a 4.2 rating on Goodreads. Hear what reviewers have to say:
Drago: “I spent the entire night reading this (The Hunters) and I’m going to say this, because I never get tired of it: I’m grateful for this author, because in this book: vampires maim, kill, drink blood, and actually fucking die when exposed to the sun.”
Joy: “I felt like I was watching a movie ‘cause this one (The Hunters) has the makings of a good one.”
Larry: “This non-stop action packed book will keep you on the edge of your seat.”
The Hunted: Now The Hunters become the hunted.

Things are going better than expected with Avie, then the Counsel comes after them. Now the hunters have become the hunted.
Releases February 18th.
